IREC 2018
ESRA (Experimental Sounding Rocket Association) hosts the Intercollegiate Engineering Competition for Rocket Teams from all over the country and around the world for the purpose of fostering and promoting engineering knowledge and experience in the field of rocketry. IREC is the most renowned Rocket Engineering Competition with more than 40 teams representing their universities worldwide competes in IREC.
With a payload size of 8.8 pounds and target altitudes of 10,000 ft and 30,000 feet above ground level, rockets are typically 4 to 12 inches in diameter and 4 to 20 feet long. ESRA's focus is in the field of experimental sounding rocketry, which gives the opportunities to students having “Rocket Fever” to build and launch sounding rockets and explore the world of rocket-technology. In 2018, the IREC will be the held at the Spaceport America, New Mexico, USA. And, the Intercollegiate Rocket Competition (India) will be held at Rohtak, India. |
